Here is something quite novel and I know it is not a brand new idea or product and to be honest I haven’t really taken much notice of it before, but as I am now creating my own ebooks and selling them online, it is something that I am now looking into for the future.

Just highlight some text on this page and copy and paste it into the text box in the above demo box. Pick male or female voice option and then click create mp3. I know it is pretty basic and sounds like a robot that is speaking, but you get the concept right. There are quite a lot of websites that have this kind of software installed and normally it is so a reader can listen to an interview or something similar.
It is getting more and more popular to offer at an extra cost an ebook in mp3 format, then it can be listened to instead of read. This is what I am looking into at the moment as I have now created a few ebooks and depending on how well they sell may offer them in mp3 as well. I won’t be using this free software above, but will be looking into getting my ebooks professionally converted into mp3 files. This as you can imagine is not cheap, which is why it is still in the planning stage at the moment.
But with the above demo, if you can get on with the robot like sound then you can use it to convert quickly anything that you might be reading on the Internet into voice, which will save you reading it if you really can’t be bothered to read at anytime. There are plenty of other software packages that perform a lot better then the above demo, but they will cost money.
