Own Your Blog
To set up a Blog is very easy, you can set them up for free at WordPress or Blogger. There are plenty of other places to set up free blogs, but these two are probably the most popular. There is something you need to know when you set up a blog for free and I am going to tell you.
I know of several people that have come unstuck with free blogs. First off there is nothing wrong with free blogs, you can set them up and blog away to your hearts content. There is one little fact to keep in mind and that is you will not own that blog, it is not yours, it belongs to who ever you set the free blog up with and this means they can do whatever they want with it.
The people that I know of that have come unstuck have all added lots of content and the blogs were getting some good traffic and then they lost them along with all their content. But that is not the only thing to keep in mind, your free blog might be OK and never go missing, but you will never have control over it. This often means that you are restricted in what you can promote and this will be a problem if you want to start to Make Money with your Blog, also you will never be able to sell your blog because it will not belong to you.
If you already have a free blog, don’t panic, it is possible to transfer it to a hosting account and gain control of it. If you are going to set up a blog then you are best to start your own blog, it will cost you but not very much, it’s very cheap. Buy your Domain name (around $10 per year), I use Dynadot and then open up a hosting account, I use Hostgator and this will cost you around $8 per month, but you can host loads of blogs on the one account. This way you own the blog and you have complete control, you can promote what you want and you can sell your blog later on down the line.
